What is biometric verification?
Biometric verification is our online identity check. Inside your Kangaroo Service account, you'll be guided through a short flow run by Persona, our identity-verification partner, which usually takes around 5 minutes:
- Scan your photo ID. You'll be asked to photograph the front and back of a government-issued ID — for AU customers, typically your driver's licence or passport; for ID customers, your KTP or passport.
- Take a short selfie video. The app checks that the face on your ID matches the person in front of the camera, and that you're a live person (not a photo of a photo).
- Submit. Persona shares the result with us, we finalise your verification in the background, and your account is normally marked Verified straight away.
You can do all of this from your phone or your computer — anywhere with a camera. You don't need to print anything or visit an office.
If the camera step doesn't work for you, or you'd rather not use Persona, see What if I can't complete online verification? for the alternative paths.
