How long does identity verification take?

It depends on which verification method you use.

Method	Typical turnaround
Online (biometric / Persona)	About 5 minutes end-to-end, and usually verified instantly on submission.
Offline (document upload)	1–3 business days while our team manually reviews your documents.
Existing customer match	Instant — we check the details you provide against your existing Kangaroo Service record and verify on the spot.

While your verification is under review (offline only), your dashboard will show "Under Review" and you won't be able to send money yet. We'll email you as soon as your verification is approved.

If something doesn't match up — for example a blurry document or mismatched details — we'll come back to you with what's needed rather than rejecting the application outright. See What if I can't complete online verification? for what to do if you get stuck.
